Mending is resistance.

The opposite of “visible mending” isn’t “invisible mending;” it’s tossing inexpensive clothes that have sprung a leak somewhere. There’s lots to learn about the scope of and impact of fast fashion these days, and there are many folks out there sharing stories, data, and analysis about it. 

Clothes are expensive, and global fast fashion brands like Shein make fashion-like garments cheaper than anybody. But while fast fashion is cheap, it’s not made nearly as well as new garments from “the high street,” aka the mall, let alone the super-expensive stuff made by actual fashion brands. And that means it’s much more likely to break than a t-shirt.
