Khaki's Mend

A’s khaki’s featured some 100% cotton fabric with a really lovely hand. The kind of soft and steady feeling you well-made garments get after many wears and washes. They sprung a thigh erosion leak–that thing where the fabric seems to get lighter and lighter, and then kind of wavy… and then, RIP! 

The patch is from my mom’s quilting stash, and I rather like the color palette, if I do say so myself. 

Assessment: visible mend to reinforce eroded fabric

Production: $25 +tax for 1 hour’s work

I’m always working on getting my stitches to be “clean”--mostly even, mostly going where the repair needs them to go. I have the feeling that it’ll always be a work in progress.
